The long-term operation of stainless steel multi-stage pumps has resulted in insufficient suction due to lax water seal leakage, air leakage in the pump body, motor reversal, and blockage of impeller flow channels. This has greatly affected the production efficiency of the pumps. Our factory has summarized the reasons and solutions for insufficient suction in stainless steel multi-stage pumps. Below, we will provide a detailed introduction.
1. Motor reversal
Reason: The motor rotor and stator are worn, the three-phase motor is out of phase or unbalanced, and the power line is connected in reverse, resulting in insufficient suction of the water pump.
Solution: Replace the worn parts, check the source of the problem with a multimeter according to the motor control circuit, and exchange the two wires to connect the replaced parts at will.
2. Pump chamber not filled with water
Reason: Before starting the water pump, the air inside the pump body was not fully discharged due to the failure to water the pump in a timely manner, resulting in insufficient suction of the water pump.
Solution: Before starting the water pump, it is necessary to remember to fill the pump body with water to ensure that there is a vacuum inside the pump, so that water absorption can proceed normally.
3. Air leakage in the inlet pipeline
Reason: The imported pipeline is not well sealed, and the O-ring inside the shaft sleeve is damaged, causing air leakage in the water pump and insufficient suction of the water pump.
Solution: Timely plug or repair the leaking position of the inlet pipeline, replace it with a new O-ring, or replace it with a new inlet pipeline.
4. The inlet pipeline is too long and large
Reason: Due to the long and large inlet pipeline of the stainless steel multi-stage pump, the pipeline resistance loss is relatively large, which can also lead to insufficient suction.
Solution: Adjust the installation height of the water pump, reduce the elbow valves of the inlet pipeline, shorten the pipeline length, and install a suitable inlet pipeline length.
5. Water seal leakage
Reason: Improper selection of water sealing materials; Friction damage to the water seal, substandard water quality, damage to the working surface of the water seal, and insufficient suction due to air leakage.
Solution: Disassemble the water seal to check for defects, repair and maintain it appropriately, and in severe cases, replace it with a new and suitable water seal in a timely manner.
6. Impeller not installed in place
Reason: When installing the impeller, insufficient caution resulted in the impeller not being tightly attached to the components, or the impeller being installed backwards, resulting in insufficient pump suction.
Solution: The impeller needs to be installed correctly, and after installation, the smoothness of the impeller surface should be checked again, the clearance should be checked, and the steering direction should be checked.
7. Screws not tightened
Reason: Due to prolonged operation of the water pump, vibration occurred and the screws became loose. Or if the screws were not tightened manually.
Solution: We need to regularly check the tightness of the screws. Once any looseness is found, tighten the screws immediately to avoid falling off.
8. Impeller channel blockage
Reason: Scaly deposits form inside the impeller, blocking the blades and making it difficult to rotate, resulting in a smaller suction volume and insufficient suction.
Solution: Carefully remove the filter mesh and filter in the inlet section, as well as the sediment inside the pump and pipeline, to ensure that the water pump can deliver water smoothly
9. Large clearance between impeller and side cover
Reason: The gap between the impeller and the side cover is too large, which causes external air to enter the pump body, resulting in insufficient suction of the water pump.
