A project with an annual power generation of 9 billion kilowatt hours, with the participation of "Liling Manufacturing"

This is a water intake pump ship that has pioneered the matching of 2 × 1 million kilowatt units in China. Its overall design, product manufacturing, on-site installation and commissioning, and smooth handover to users for use are all carried out by a Liling enterprise - Hunan Zhongda Energy saving Pump Industry Co., Ltd.

The Datang Huayin Zhuzhou 2 × 1 million kilowatt capacity expansion and upgrading project was officially put into operation on February 10 this year. It is an important support for the power supply of the Changsha Zhuzhou Xiangtan load center, and has significant strategic significance in ensuring the energy and power security of the province, promoting the clean and low-carbon transformation of energy, and accelerating the construction of a new energy system.

As the core part of the power plant water source project, the "Zhudian" was successfully launched into the Xiangjiang River in July 2025 and officially put into use in September 2025. The ship is 38.7 meters long, 10 meters wide, and 1.8 meters deep. The hull is constructed with CCS special steel, which can effectively resist river erosion and has a designed service life of over 30 years. The ship is equipped with 4 high-efficiency and energy-saving water pumps, with a single pump flow rate of 1100 cubic meters per hour and a head of 60 meters. It operates in a "3 in use and 1 backup" mode, with a maximum daily water intake capacity of 80000 cubic meters. By using low-voltage variable frequency starting, energy consumption is optimized and mechanical shock is greatly reduced.

Efficient and energy-saving water pump on "Zhudian"

For the first time in China, a water intake pump ship has been equipped for a million kilowatt unit, with high technical requirements and construction standards. Yin Fang, the project leader of the "Zhudian" water intake floating ship project, introduced that the project team has overcome technical difficulties one by one and ultimately achieved independent design and construction of the entire ship. The advantage of a water intake floating boat is that it is not affected by water level fluctuations and can stably extract mid-level water, ensuring stable and clean water supply. At the same time, the entire boat is connected to the shore through a single DN900 vertical rocker arm type water supply pipe, which is flexibly adapted to water level fluctuations through a universal flexible joint connection, and can accurately meet the daily demand for 79200 tons of huge cooling water supply.

Not only does the 'body' have a hard core, but the 'Zhudian' also has a smart 'digital brain'. The control system on board is designed with PLC+DCS devices, which can achieve unmanned and remote control. Even in the event of a sudden power outage, the system can still operate for 30 minutes. ”Yin Fang told reporters. Various high standard designs enable this water intake floating boat to operate stably and reliably on the Xiang River.
